P.E. CLASS

February 24 to 28, 2014

“Honour thy father and thy mother, so thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee...”

As always reminding you that for P.E. class:
We need all students to wear proper clothing for the class.
·       Tennis shoes, long shorts (boys and girls) or sweat pants, and t-shirt (without cleavage) or jerseys.

-  No dresses for the girls
-  No jeans
-  No crocs
-  No sandals
-  No boots or shoes

(Please, mom & dad collaborate with us by sending a proper sunscreen or sun block with your son or daughter to avoid any skin rash, and there is a need for a fly repellent as well.)

9th – 11th grade, we will have shooting sessions for this week’s soccer training along with strengthening exercises and physical endurance exercise.


6th to 8th grade, students are bringing their ideas of new games involving competition between teams or use a known sport or pre-sport adding rules of their own to the game. Exercise to gain physical endurance will part of workout this week.

EARLY DISMISSAL WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26 – Please remember that our teachers will have a Professional Development afternoon this Wednesday. Our students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m. This day we will follow PM Schedule.

P.E. CLASS

February 18 to 21, 2014

9th – 11th grade, we will start the workout project. Every student will be given the task of bringing a exercise routine that must contain 5 minutes of cardio and 5 minutes of strengthening exercising.


6th to 8th grade, beginning this week every student will have the task of creating a game that involves competition between teams or use a known sport or pre-sport adding rules of his own to the game.

February 10 to 14, 2014

9th – 11th grade, we will be emphasizing our work in ball control and target shooting, beside the regular workout.


6th to 8th grade, this week we will work in ball control and for this we will play a pre-sport game called soccer, beside other doing other activities aimed to develop team strategy among students.

9th – 11th grade, we will be practicing shots to the goal from different distances.

6th to 8th grade, this week we will look with students alternative games, invasion games, to make them use strategies and create a team approach.

MAP TESTING – This is week three (the final week) of our second MAP testing session for this school year. Reports will be sent home along with the Midterm Progress Reports on Friday, Febrary 14.

PICTURES FOR THE YEARBOOK – The individual and class pictures for the 2013-2014  yearbook will be taken from Tuesday, February 11 to Wednesday, February 19. The specific day and time for each grade will be posted next week.

CHOIR PARENTS – On Monday, February 3, at 3:15 p.m., there will be a mandatory meeting in the school Library for parents of all Choir students who are planning to travel to New York City in June 2014 to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Information will be given concerning the trip and payments needed, and Important decisions about the trip will be made. We need at least one parent for each Choir student to attend this meeting.

SCHOLASTIC BOOKS! - This month your child(ren) will have the opportunity to purchase books through the International Scholastic Book Clubs.  This is an optional activity offered by the school, in case you want to motivate your child to read at home and to increase their own library.  With your purchase, our library will accumulate points to redeem for more books for the benefit of your children in our school. Order forms and catalogues were sent home previously. The final date to purchase the books online is February 10. The books will arrive at the school in one single delivery, and we will distribute them to the students according to their orders, approximately three weeks after the purchase due date.
